Clinton, Mo. – (June 5, 2019) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that Megan Skaggs is the June staff member of the month.
Skaggs has been an employee of GVMH since May 2006 and works as a registered nurse in the outpatient surgery department.
Coworkers who nominated Skaggs had the following to say about her: “Whatever the need, Megan’s willingness to help our patients and employees is always done with a smile. She shows up ready to work and is a major help to keep the pre-op process running smoothly.”
“Megan demonstrates her commitment to GVMH every day by showing compassion to our patients and staff. She puts them at ease through just a simple conversation. Megan was also instrumental with our recent Meditech update. She was extremely patient while assisting others in learning the new system. Additionally, when the call team has multiple cases and needs extra help, Megan is willing to work on her days off.”
“Providing the best flow of care and ensuring a favorable patient outcome is important to Megan. Checking patient charts, clarifying items that require follow-up, answering questions and communicating between the physicians, their offices and patients demonstrates Megan’s attention to detail.”
“Megan is an AIDET champion. She just naturally works it in her conversations with patients and makes them feel comfortable and at ease. She is a great communicator and advocate for every patient.”
In addition to being named Staff Member of the Month, Skaggs received a flower bouquet, a $100.00 gift certificate and her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital. Skaggs is also one of 12 finalists for the 2019-2020 staff member of the year award.
