Clinton, Mo. – (Dec. 19, 2019) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that Dr. Aneel Ursani, MD, has been certified in psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN).
ABPN promotes and assesses the competency of psychiatrists and neurologists to provide high quality patient care. Board-certified psychiatrists obtain specialized skills to diagnose and treat emergent or long-term psychiatric disorders. To become board certified, Dr. Ursani completed rigorous training and achieved the gold standard in each of the following core competencies:
• Patient care
• Medical knowledge
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Professionalism
• Systems-based practice
• Practice-based learning and improvement to practice quality specialized medicine in psychiatry
Dr. Ursani graduated medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He also received bachelor degrees in molecular and cell biology and psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. Most recently, Dr. Ursani was a resident physician in the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.
Currently, Dr. Ursani is practicing as a psychiatrist at GVMH, where he evaluates patients and develops specific treatment plans for those with behavioral or mental health conditions. His practice is available for adult patients age 18-65 and he treats depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders, and anxiety disorders.
