Clinton, Mo. – (March 18, 2020) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is now screening all patients and visitors prior to entering any of its facilities. The screening check will allow staff to quickly assess patients and visitors to increase safety in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
GVMH has also partnered with Show Me RV in Clinton to put a camper at the GVMH emergency entrance to give staff a place to be readily available to provide screening for patients prior to entering the emergency department.
Additionally, some non-urgent procedures may be postponed as emergent procedures continue to be the highest priority. Each scheduled procedure will be evaluated for time sensitivity and risk, as well as resource availability. Patients with procedures deemed non-urgent will be contacted if the operation will be postponed.
“The entire community is coming together and responding with tremendous unity,” said Craig Thompson, chief executive officer at GVMH. “We are all working together to help protect our families, friends and neighbors, and we truly appreciate the combined effort from our incredible staff.”
