Clinton, Mo. – (Aug. 12, 2020) – In February, nearly 350 guests attended the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation annual gala and helped raise more than $150,000 to support Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) and its patients.
From the gala proceeds, the Foundation donated $59,000 to GVMH for the purchase of a telehealth robot dedicated to its Birthing Center to support teleneonatology services.
The robot is specifically designed to evaluate babies born with high-risk medical needs. Having access to this technology helps babies born at GVMH and their families stay close to home, while receiving high-quality, expert treatment from specialized pediatricians through a videoconferencing system.
“The Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation truly appreciates all the support we received to make this donation possible,” said Sarah Duncan, Foundation Director. “The telehealth robot helps advance our Birthing Center technology and allows us to provide better care for our patients and their families.”
