Clinton, Mo. – (Nov. 23, 2020) – On December 1, community partners will celebrate the completion of the Gaines Drive project with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The $3.49 million project improves safety, enhances traffic flow and provides for future growth and development along Gaines Drive.
The City of Clinton, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH), Compass Health, Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Economic Development, Missouri Transportation Finance Corporation, CJW Transportation Consultants, Capital Paving & Construction and Molly McGovern Consulting partnered on the project.
In 2015, the group launched a study to explore existing traffic conditions from the highway 7/13 intersection to the highway 52 interchange. Results of the project identified multiple way to improve traffic conditions in the area.
The project encompassed multiple phases, including:
“The completion of the Gaines Drive project has allowed for improved traffic flow for many citizens of Clinton as well as employees and patrons of businesses in the area,” said Christy Maggi, City of Clinton Administrator. “The City would like to extend their thanks to the project partners and citizens for their support and patience during the construction phase.”
The ribbon cutting on December 1 will take place at 11 a.m. on Gaines Drive near the right-in/right-out access point, south of the outpatient entrance at GVMH.
