Clinton, Mo. – (Feb. 8, 2021) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) plans to administer 3,000 COVID-19 vaccines at four clinic events it is hosting in Clinton between the dates of February 9-14.
On Tuesday, February 9, GVMH will host two vaccine clinics. The first event will be a mass in-person clinic from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Benson Center with assistance from the National Guard. During this event, 900 vaccines will be administered to registered individuals.
“In addition to supplying healthcare providers to administer the vaccines at the clinic, we have implemented our proven distribution process to ensure we can immunize as many individuals as possible in an efficient, safe and timely manner with the utmost care and compassion,” said Craig Thompson, CEO at GVMH. “Our vaccination process has been so successful; it is being used as a best practice model for other organizations across the state to streamline their procedures.”
GVMH also collaborated with Operation BBQ, a federally funded food supplier, to provide lunch to all the volunteers.
The other Tuesday vaccine clinic will be at the GVMH Outpatient Center. In addition, GVMH will be hosting clinics Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14, for individuals with scheduled appointments.
“At the end of our clinic on February 14, we will have administered 3,000 doses in one week, which is impressive for a small, rural healthcare organization,” said Thompson. “We have made it a top priority to get as much vaccine distributed to as many Missouri residents as possible, and will continue to do so.”
GVMH is currently scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments for residents in Phase 1A, Phase 1B-Tier 1 and Phase 1B-Tier 2 of the Missouri vaccination plan.
