Clinton, Mo. – (March 5, 2021) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that Lisa Susunaga is the March Staff Member of the Month.
Susunaga has been an employee of GVMH since October 2018 and currently works as the Diabetes Nurse Educator in the Diabetes Skills and Self-Management Department. She provides diabetes services in the outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings.
Her nomination stated that Susunaga continually displays professionalism, accountability, compassion and excellence in her role. She is a team player and goes out of her way to assist others, especially patients. To ensure success and satisfaction, she follows up with patients and offers re-education when necessary.
Susunaga is a great communicator and fills other roles when needed. She has assisted with vaccine clinics and staff wellness events. She also presents more than 30 patient education classes each year with the assistance of coworkers.
In addition to being named staff member of the month, Susunaga received a flower bouquet, a $100 gift certificate and her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital. Susunaga is also one of 12 finalists for the 2020-2021 staff member of the year award.
