Becoming a nurse practitioner has been one of the best decisions of my life. I became a nurse because I wanted to help others. Working as a nurse in the emergency department for several years increased my skills, knowledge and confidence. I knew I wanted to continue to expand my medical knowledge, yet work in an environment where I could directly provide patient care. As a nurse practitioner, I am thankful to have direct patient contact, plus the ability to personally impact my patient’s care.
